They have high plasticity; meanwhile, ADSC can secrete a variety of growth factors, cytokines and exosomes. They have multiple functions, such as promoting tissue repair and immune regulation, which all have been put into use in human clinical trials.

Because adults are unable to have and store umbilical cord and umbilical cord blood, adipose tissues are a good source of stem cells in adults. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have rich sources; after induction they can differentiate into many different tissue cells, such as osteocyte, chondrocyte and neural cell. In current medical technology applications, ADSCs are often used in medical beauty care; more importantly, they can form tissues and organs, such as hard bone and cartilage. Besides, in international clinical trials, ADSCs are used to help repair damaged parts of the body. Therefore, ADSCs have great future potential in many fields including chronic diseases.
