What is Amniotic Fluid Stem cells
A fetus grows in his/her mother’s womb, surrounded by the important liquid – amniotic fluid. It is also the original source of life! The medical field has confirmed that amniotic fluid is not just a barrier to protect the fetus; it contains rich early-stage stem cells and is involved in the fetal development process. Stem cells are primitive cells needed for the formation and repair of human tissues and organs; they can be differentiated into various tissues. Through prenatal routine examination procedure, U-NEURON can obtain some amniotic fluid from pregnant women between the 16th-20th week through amniocentesis, and culture the amniotic fluid stem cells belonging to the fetal period; such cells have excellent ability of proliferation and differentiation.
